New funding round opens 17 August

Date:

A fourth round for the Unlocking Curious Minds contestable fund opens on 17 August, offering up to $2 million to connect Kiwis with science and tech.

Proposals are sought from individuals and organisations for two levels of grants: up to $30,000 for local projects and up to $150,000 for regional or national projects.

The application round will close at 12 noon, Tuesday 19 September.

The Unlocking Curious Minds contestable fund supports innovative projects that excite and engage New Zealanders, especially young people with fewer opportunities to get involved with science and technology.

More than 120 projects have been delivered since the fund was established in 2015. It is implemented by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment as part of A Nation of Curious Minds – He Whenua Hihiri I te Mahara, the Government’s strategic plan to encourage all New Zealanders to get engaged with science and technology.
